"Full Moon Night Hike"
Wednesday, December 2nd at 5:00 PM
December’s full moon is known as the Long Night Moon. Join us for a nighttime hike through the forest up to North Pond as we look and listen for nocturnal creatures, and enjoy some night vision activities under the light of the moon. The walk will last approximately 1 ½ hours. Reservations required 24 hours prior, space is limited. A program for adults and families with children over 11. Free for members, $5.00 for non-members.
All About Feeder Birds!
Sunday, December 13th from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM
Learn to recognize and identify local feeder birds and then use your knowledge to participate in an Audubon Feeder Survey at the Refuge Bird Feeder Station. A bird seed craft will be available for you to make and take home to feed the birds in your yard. A free program for children ages 6 – 12 and families. Reservations required.

After School Wildlife Club
Tuesdays, January 5th, 12th, 19th & 26th from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Become part of the QWR Wildlife Club and you’ll be on your way to being a wildlife expert! Learn all about local plants and animals and explore the Refuge during our guided trail hikes! A program for children ages 6 – 11. $5.00 per session, or $15.00 for all four sessions. Reservations required.
Katie's Critters

Do you love animals? Katie’s Critters is a non-profit organization that cares for unwanted pet birds and small animals. Come to meet some of their creatures, learn about responsible pet care, as well as what this organization does. Pet adoptions through this organization are possible. The Galapagos Islands
Monday, February 1st at 8:00 PM
Join presenter and traveler, Bob Adamo, to learn all about the birds and creatures of the Galapagos Islands through a beautiful slide show presentation. This presentation will portray the splendor of the animals he encountered including the Galapagos Tortoise, Marine Iguana, Galapagos Sea Turtle, Blue-footed Booby, just to name a few. This program is jointly offered by Eastern Long Island Audubon Society (ELIAS) and QWR. Feel free to come earlier at 7:15 pm to attend the ELIAS meeting.
Quogue's Heritage Road
Wednesday, February 10th at 7:00 PM
You may have seen “Heritage Road” signs on Quogue Street and Beach Lane. Originally called “Quogue Road”, and designated as Quogue's Heritage Road by the Trustees in 2009, these streets formed Quogue from its origins in the 1600s until its expansion in the late 1800s. This presentation by Dick Gardner and Frances Ryan of the Quogue Historical Society summarizes the history of Quogue and the key role of Quogue Road in its development. Copies of a 42 page “Heritage Road” booklet with over 70 illustrations and 12 maps will also be available for purchase. A free program for adults. Reservations requested.
Sweetheart Owl & Craft
Saturday February 13th at 2:00 PM
Join us in the Nature Center to meet a live owl with a heart shaped facial disc, which is why this species is nicknamed ‘the Sweetheart Owl’. Learn all about these fascinating creatures and then make a Valentine Craft to bring home to your valentine. A free program for children ages 5 – 11.
Winter Wildlife Camp
Tuesday through Friday, February 16th – 19th from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Come to the Refuge for a great wildlife experience of 3 hours a day of wildlife, education, and fun! Each day will include a hike, so dress your child for the weather. Children will be able to participate in feeding and handling some of the animals that live in the Nature Center. Please send child with a snack &drink. Hot chocolate and cookies will be offered during snack break. Sign up for one or all of the days. $30.00 per day, or $100.00 for the four day program. Registration and payment required ahead of time. A program for children ages 5 to 10 yrs old.
